1. Data Collection & Purpose
We collect and process personal data necessary to provide professional search and strategic advisory services. This includes:
Identity & Contact Data: Full name, professional email, phone number, and LinkedIn profile.
Professional Profile: CV/Resume, educational history, technical certifications, and employment records.
Financial Expectations: Salary benchmarks, notice periods, and bonus structures required for placement negotiation.
Vetting Notes: Internal technical assessments and interview feedback generated during our screening process.
Purpose: This data is used exclusively to evaluate your suitability for specific industrial mandates and to facilitate introductions to hiring entities within the Green Tech sector.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
We process data under Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our interest is to connect specialized talent with critical infrastructure projects that further the Green Transition. We balance this against your rights by ensuring data is only used for relevant professional opportunities. Where we are required by law or process sensitive data, we will seek your explicit Consent.
3. International Data Transfers
StartHire operates across the UK-Swedish industrial corridor. Your data may be stored or processed in the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA).
Adequacy: The UK and the EU maintain mutual "Adequacy Decisions," ensuring data moves between these regions under equivalent high protection standards.
Security: All transfers are encrypted, and we utilize secure cloud environments to prevent unauthorized access.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your profile is shared with:
Prospective Employers: Only after a preliminary vetting process and with your verbal or written confirmation.
Technical Partners: Occasionally, we may use third-party technical assessment tools to verify specific engineering skills, subject to strict confidentiality.
Regulators: Only when legally compelled by UK or Swedish authorities.
5. Data Retention
Because giga-projects (such as battery plants or hydrogen hubs) have multi-year lifecycles, we maintain your technical profile in our Strategic Network for a period of 3 years from your last point of engagement.
Annual Review: We may contact you periodically to ensure your technical skills and availability are up to date.
Deletion: If we have had no contact with you for over 3 years, your data will be automatically pseudonymized or deleted unless you request to remain in the network.
6. Your Rights & Data Control
Under the GDPR and UK Data Protection Act, you possess the following rights:
Access & Rectification: Request a copy of your data or correct inaccuracies.
Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request that we permanently delete your profile from our systems within 30 days.
Restriction & Objection: Request that we stop sharing your profile or object to processing based on Legitimate Interest.
Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent for data processing at any time.
7. Contact & Complaints
To exercise your rights, please contact our Data Privacy Lead at info@starthire.net.
If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority:
In the UK: The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
